About the Artist

Marcus Pierno - Biography

Marcus Pierno attended Fashion Institute of Technology where he studied Illustration. He also studied art in Florence, Italy. Additional training was received at The Art Students League of New York and at The National Academy of Fine Arts on full scholarship where he studied extensively under Dan Gheno. 

 

Since 2007, Marcus has worked in the world of advertising as a storyboarder and poster conceptual artist. He has worked on major campaigns for The History Channel, The Arts & Entertainment Network, Netflix, Hulu, Cirque du Soleil, Serino Coyne, and General Mills amongst many others. His illustrations have regularly appeared in Friends of Animals' quarterly magazine Action Line and The Civil War Roundtable of New York monthly newsletter The Dispatch.

 

Marcus is an award-winning classically-inspired artist whose work resides in various public and private collections around the world, including The Salmagundi Club and The Algonquin Hotel. He considers himself a storyteller with a brush and draws inspiration from a wide range of subject material: from pet portraits to farm sanctuary animals, landscapes to cityscapes, and multiple periods of history.
